1. Composition.

(a) Chief of the Army Staff.
(b) Chief of the Naval Staff.
(c) Chief of the Air Staff.
(d) Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (non-voting member). |

Note:
(i) The member longest on the Committee is the Chairman.
(ii) The Scientific Adviser to the Minister of Defence is
to be invited when a technical or scientific or defence production
item is discussed.
2. Secretariat. Headquarters
Integrated Defence Staff.
3. Functions. The Chiefs of
Staff are the authority for advising the Defence Minister
and normally through him the Cabinet Committee on Political
Affairs on all military matters which require ministerial
consideration.
